Lying in the sand, drinking an ice-cold beer, watching a lovely lady in a bikini passing by… Yeah, that’s what most us probably associate with beaches. Summer, sun, surfing… a holiday perfection. But spending your time on a beach in winter, in the icy cold, with temperatures near the freezing point—that’s pretty enjoyable, too. We admit: we are really into beaches, no matter if it’s that sun-laden summer holiday dream or that chilly and stormy winter experience that leads us there.

In January we spent some days on the Dutch beaches of Zeeland and immediately fell in love. With the view, the sand, the waves, and, yeah, with the icy cold. Here’s our love story of “het strand gevoel”—the Dutch beach feeling—in eight pictures.
